You probably remember Bob Sylva for his popular human interest column in the Sacramento Bee. He has a newly-published book of short stories. Not only is he a native Sacramentan, but the book has been designed and printed here in town. The artwork on the cover features a painting by local artist Terry Miura. And here's the thing: If you want to walk into an honest-to-goodness, brick-and-mortar bookstore and purchase a copy, you must come to Beers. So what are you waiting for?

Labor/No Labor

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. So, we're stayin' home.
